Larvitour Stop #29
Drove up here the afternoon after hiking Arvon. I noticed that some of the trails in the park are maintained by the local high school's cross-country team, which brought back memories. Imagine running hill repeats up your state's high point... Anyway, great weather and lovely views from the top.

Nice day for a tower climb
Final third of a highpointing trilogy through the midwest. It was peaceful and scenic and I enjoyed walking along the lake on the way back. #26

5000 Mile Roadtrip
STHP # 15 for me. Part of a 5k mile road trip through much of the Northern States. Did 4 total state high points and visited a ton of National Parks and other scenic stops.
Very nice. Kids enjoyed the tower.

Highpoint #39
Hmmm ... similar to the MN highpoint we did earlier in the am - up the tower and then a hasty retreat due to the bugs! Would be pretty spectacular in the fall for sure.

Climbed the tower, was the only person there on a perfect day.
Drove up from Minneapolis while visiting the area. Climbed the wooden tower and got a very nice view. I didn't feel up to climbing the steel tower. Stopped by the coffee shop to sign the summit register. The raspberry cream cheese pie was very good.

Timm's Hill
I stopped at Timm's while driving back to Chippewa Falls from Green Bay. Climbed up the wood tower, then walked the loop around the hill. It was a sunny day, but very windy. Not too many people in the park this day, oddly enough. This was my 2nd state highpoint, after Mt Elbert of Colorado.

Hiked with my brother. Had some lovely views of the surrounding area from the top of the tower. I wish I had brought a notebook with me to leave there, since the climbers log was pretty full.

Nice Tower View
Followed excellent directions to the parking area and had a quick hike to the towers. The wooden tower provided nice views of the area, otherwise the views would have been hidden by the dense forest. Saw one other party. DEET useful this time of year.

State HP #40
This was a very easy peak to find, well marked on the roads. Located inside its own state park, Timms Hill had some views from the top of the observation tower. Nice to check it off our list. We drove to this, as well as Mt Arvon, MI in the same day. State HP #40......i cannot believe it, 80% of the way, WOHOOOO!!
Gorgeous area in the autumn season. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Highpoint #9
After successfully "summitting" Illinois, I hammered the rental car north to hit Wisconsin later that same day. I left the supplemental oxygen canister in the car for the climb up the tower.

Timms Hill
As another climber put it, this is an "unremarkable bump". All due respect given, common logic might suggest that the state/county do some site-leveling excavation work at Timm's Hill (1956 ft) so that the summit of the more dramatic/prominent and essentially equal-elevation Rib Mountain (1924 ft) becomes the state high point.
Hiked the small trail up and climbed the wooden tower. I thought about ascending the steel tower, but looked a little too precarious for me. Passed some Amish folks on the way up. Very pleasant day and experience.
