The goal of this hike is actually to reach The Traveler, not North Traveler due to The Traveler being approximately 400' taller, the most remote and imposing of the three peaks along the loop, and the fact that it is the highest Volcanic Mountain in Maine, if not the whole east. North Traveler though, is a beautiful, outstanding peak and is one of the main attractive and scenic points on the trail.
