The Fin ...

This is the one "the other guy" called The Fin here on SP ???

Can you (pretty) please give us more information, such as WHAT direction to approach the standard route from, and how many hours it takes the average climber to
climb it and return to the Jordon Road parking area ???

Are there more formations that you have
visited on the east side of Mormon Canyon?
Those are some awesome rocks, man ...

Re: The Fin ...

Great climb, which Walt and I did together a couple years back. Short, too. I seem to remember it taking only 2-3 hours car-to-car.

Re: The Fin ...

Larry, my memory's a little sketchy so don't take it as gospel, but far as I can recall, we did park in the Jordan Road area, and the approach was short but mostly off trail... we just headed right for it. Getting to the base is a scramble at most, and the "ramp" was low 5th class in one spot. Think the whole thing took 4 or 5 hours or so.

Re: The Fin ...

Did it take that long? Apparently my memory's a little sketchy too!

Re: The Fin ...

Thanks, fellas!

If I slip you a '10-spot' beneath the table,
would that improve your memory ?? : ))

I reckon the average would be 4 hours.

Re: The Fin ...

Well, I think so, but that would include getting the gear out, bickering over who's going to lead the first pitch, someone waiting on pitch 2 for half an hour ;), walking the ridge, taking pics, setting up the raps and stuff... all that fooling with gear takes some time.

Re: The Fin ...

You're right! It took us 4 or 5 hours.

Mister Spock says, "That's a good number!" : ))

Bones says, "It's time for a whiskey sour."

Capt. Kirk says, "Beam me up, Jim Beam!"
