best view of any 14'er I've been up so far.
I went up this one solo with the clouds chasing me, forntunately the rain and lightning didn't start until 20 mins after I came off the summit.
Beautiful day, but cold winds were howling.
A great hike with my girlfriend & our dog-1st 14er for both of them.
We started the hike in the moonlight. Beautiful sunrise and great vistas from the trail and the summit. Our photos are here: Uncompahgre Peak hike
Good hike. Maybe the best view from any 14er summit.
Mostly because it didn't seem like one, drove to trailhead in aspen
season and hiked graded path to summit
Long day but well worth it, weather moving in made for a short stop at the summit.
Did Uncom early in the morning from Matterhorn Creek TH before bagging Wetterhorn. Cloudy the entire time on summit so we had no views
nellie creek, east slopes. nice vertigo peering down the north face! I'll go back with ya anderson!
Summitted for the second time, this time with my dad who is 66 years old. This was his first 14er!
I have Matterhorn left...anyone in for two?
Jathan Cantu, Dan and Margaret Spare, reached the summit in 3 hours with beautiful weather and views. One of the most scenic 14ers for sure. Awesome views from the top and marmots everywhere! Storm rolled in at 1pm, but thankfully we were back at the trailhead.
What a superb day for a hike, and although a long walk from Matterhorn, the trek across the alpine meadow and solitude more than compensate. We left Matterhorn at 4:30A and were on top at about 8:30A.
Great day. Only saw a couple people on the way down. Terrific views.
Interesting day. Had a little snow shower move in while above 14000' and then a little fog for the descent. By the time we were back in the basin, it was sunny again.
Hiked from Nellie Creek TH. Windy, but nice hike overall. Beautiful alpenglow sunrise!
Skied ~50' from the summit. From Wetterhorn Peak.
Carried my son, Dave, up in a kiddie pack. At age 1 year, 10 months, he was the youngest person to summit this big friendly mountain.
An amazing hike with Hank Hassell, Cliff Moser and Gordon Swenson.
