"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

The Dome and outcroppingI started from the parking area at 10:00 AM and was on the summit at 10:20 AM. This is a very easy hike with rewarding views. The description here is straightforward. After 10 minutes on top I ventured down to begin looking for the route to the outcropping and at one point found a rope that has been placed to assist. I kept circling the rocks and decided that I could pick a class III route on the North side; careful route finding will keep this at class III although with some exposure. Once on top, it was worth the slog; I made it at 11:00 AM. I took the route down that you can see from St. Peter's Dome and utilized the rope referenced earlier to down climb a 10' section. I was back at the car by 11:25 AM. Great hike and only saw two other people, albeit it was a Tuesday.
