upper slopes of Mount Merritt
The final push to Mount Merritt's summit is on easy, loose class II terrain. The prominent peak in the immediate background is Natoas Peak. Behind, a fantastic series of Glacier peaks are visible. At far left is Chief Mountain, with Gable Mountain in front of and to the right. Farther back and to the right is broad expanse of Yellow Mountain; ironically, it's summit is the dark grey highpoint on the long ridge. In front of and to the right of Yellow is the triangular red summit of Seward Mountain.
