the loop is now completed...
winter as well recently finished!!
Did this out of the Ore Bed Leanto. Very quick, nice and easy too. Lots of fun.
From Gothics/Armstrong. Having been sheltered from the cold wind most of the day, it seemed to pick up at this point, as it blew through Wolfjaw Notch.
good run up lower jaw to saddle to upper jaw...rocky false summit had nice views
Went over this one during a loop from JBL. Nice view from the overlook. Met a 46er on top who was starting the 46 over again.
After camping between Armstrong and Upper Wolf Jaw, I left at 7 am to summit Upper Wolfjaw in the pouring rain. Let me tell you, Descending the north sideof this son of a bitch was a challenge, especially with an almost 40 pound pack! there are several class 2+ moves with not much exposure but a 20 foot drop can seriously hurt anybody. I underestimated these peaks which was a pleasant surprise to me, even in the rain!
Truckin' right along - trail so far was fairly gentle and mostly under the trees.
Climbed in 1/06 as part of a Sawteeth/Lower Great Range traverse, and in 5/06 as part of a Great Range traverse from Marcy to Wolfjaw Gap.
Climbed with the lower jaw together with my dad, great day.
Started at St Huberts, went up Gothics, then down the great range hitting Armstrong, Upper and Lower Wolfjaw. Great fall colors!. Early snow & ice made it kind of treacherous.
Summit on very short spur trail with great views over Ausable Valley.
Beware of false summit here. Caught us off guard- took pics and had lunch. Then we met real summit down the trail on the way out. Took pics all over.
First of three, then onto Armstrong and Gothics. Tackled this one with the ROTM gang: Mike, Tom, Mr. Baio, and Chris.
Don't be fooled by the first false summit, and the views are average from the false summit and the summit.
Long hike, good view of ADK's the whole way, ladders, scrambling and cables during sections of hike...
Skipped lwj that day in favor of making it to gothics. Awesome day in the hills.
