I have been hiking, boating and ski-ing all my life, taking up rock-climbing when I was 49 years old. I guided ascents for a few years, in Switzerland, Africa and Russia. My husband, Alois Smrz (asmrz on Summitpost), and I have roamed the Sierra Nevada for decades, climbing back-country peaks. In 2016 we bought a small pop-up camper which has extended our range into New Mexico, Nevada, Idaho, Montana and the Canadian Rockies. Occasionally we visit my homeland of Britain and climb the high points of Wales, England, and especially the magnificent peaks of Scotland, best in winter.
