USGS marker of Kaaterskill High Peak

A USGS marker on the summit of Kaaterskill High Peak. I was shocked to see it there. It's the only USGS marker I've seen on a major Catskill peak.

Bench Marks

The first benchmark that I ever stumbled upon was on top of a mountain. I was shocked to find them, also, at sea level and every altitude between. :)
