Solo Kumbu, 1982.I see that you did the Everest Trek the same year I did. It was a very good year. Waiting for the air lift out of Lukla was the most stressful part of the trek. I failed to go to Gokyo but spent three nights sleeping in that hovel of Gorak Shep with the one-legged Sherpa woman cooking my meals over a wood fire. I failed to reach the Russian base camp of which was a very successful Everest Expedition. Nineteen eighty two was a very good year.

Re: Solo Kumbu, 1982.I was there October-November. Perhaps we passed each other on the route to BC. It was a very good year I agree. Cheers William
