View from the North Spur

Buffalo Fork Peak and Mount Sublette are the distant peaks. To the right of Mount Sublette and a little closer is Sublette Peak, lower but more challenging to climb. At center left and even closer, and shaded, is Pilot Knob. Below is the tarn that makes a pretty destination along one of the routes to/from Lava Mountain. The route follows the boulder field seen to the right of the tarn. Lower, it veers left, as seen from this perspective, to mostly pass through meadows. Absaroka Range, WY-- August 2011
