The peaks actually form two different ridges. Monitor Peak, Peak Thirteen, and Animas Mountain form one that can be hiked in a nice day from a base camp in the Ruby Creek Basin (Monitor Peak is horribly loose, though).
Peak Fifteen, Turret Peak, and Pigeon Peak follow a ridge on the south side of the Ruby Creek drainage although passage along that ridge would be difficult.
I think this is the most beautiful area in Colorado.
