Durce pass

Did you know that more than twenty years ago path leaded you almost all the time closer to the wall? Nowadays path is more on the left from your photos point of view. But, I don`t know when ropes etc were removed to another path.

Re: Durce pass

As far as I remember (after 2 years), some ropes are installed only at final approach to Durce, which is behind the wall. Below that point, two branches exist - one going directly down through scree (and was used for descent by my wife), and other goes through rocks on east - visible in my photo, trail goes almost until edge of shadow and then turns toward the wall; my brother and I used this path while assisting his less experienced fiancee.

Anyway, we had feeling that ferrata (another trail) is in fact easier than Durce trail - because of those "rolling stones" of scree and also because of stones falling from big wall.

Re: Durce pass

You are right, I admit. When I went down from Raduha last time, it was winter time and we took the path that was more easy. Maybe that was the path on the left (from Grohat). And 20 years ago we went on path on the right. I went there together with my wife, ops, sorry, my girlifriend at that time. Nice, teenager years. I will share the same oppinon with you. It is easier to climb on ferrata than on that Durce pass. Saver steps, rops, solid stones etc. Agreed. Regards ROK
