The North Ridge is a class 3 off-trail scramble route to the summit of Guadalupe Peak. Do not attempt this route unless you have experience scrambling, bushwhacking, and routefinding on difficult terrain.
Follow Devil's Hall Trail from Pine Springs until you arrive at the base of the ridge. Gain the ridge and follow it to around 7000 feet. At this point, you'll encounter a 5th class obstacle. It it easily bypassed by bushwhacking through the vegetation on the left side.
Continue following the ridge until you reach the summit. You will encounter a few cliff bands near the summit, all of which have easy scramble routes.
Bring trekking poles, a headlamp, and plenty of food/water/electrolytes. Snake gaiters are also advisable.
