This is the North-West Normal Route from Lombardy.

From Malga Caldea on the Val d’Avio Valley follow the road that bring to the first dam (Avio Lake) and the second one (Benedetto Lake) from where the trail become more steep reaching Venerocolo Lake and Rifugio Garibaldi.

Route Description


From the hut climb the slope that bring to the Bixio Bivouac from where we are on the Adamello glacier. We have now to follow the ridge in South direction crossing the top of Corno Bianco and arriving to the highest top from the North-East ridge. (route also possible by skimountaineering)

Other routes from this side


From Rifugio Garibaldi other two ways can be used to reach the top. The first is a ice route and allow to arrive to the top of Corno Biano on the previous route. The latter is the dangerous (for the quality of the rocks) evident edge on the North face of the highest peak. This routes are seldom repeated in recent years.
