Triangolo Lariano

here under some advices about how to spend autumn, winter and early spring saturdays or sundays if you like hiking (easy and not tiring) and want to enjoy the panoramic views.
PS - this area is well fit for poor old men who don't want to stop walking on the mountains (I'm one of them) ... some weeks ago I met on a summit a 81yo member of CAAI (Academic Alpine Club of Italy) - suddenly I felt young !

Strange mountains with steep hillsides and sweet ridges : the summits posted here are totally free from danger when dry, some may be dangerous after a snowfall or when full of snow, no special gear required.

In this area there is a very big net of paths, some very well marked, some a little less, some are simple tracks used by hunters or mushroom or chestnuts pickers : a map could be useful.

The differences in elevation are normally low (300-1000m) but often the lenght of the tracks require a lot of unexpected time, but here hurry is not a success factor ...

The fastest access for all these summits is the Valassina, i.e. the road passing through ERBA and following for ASSO-CANZO and up ...
Of course all the summits can be also climbed starting from the small towns crossed by the roads joining Como and Valmadrera with Bellagio (the vertex of the triangle)

Many paths allow to get this summit and the ridge, most come on along the woody spurs descending down to Pusiano Lake - the shortest one (used by the ones who amuse paragliding and hang-gliding) starts from Alpe Carella that can be reached by car starting from Eupilio or Pusiano (follow signs Eupilio then Cornizzolo)
- from Alpe Carella follow the road (mountain-biking allowed up to Rifugio Consiglieri
- along the E ridge (careful if iced) to the summit of Cornizzolo or, to the right, along a road, to the aerials of Monte Rai and its summit
