Breslauer Hütte

A fine mountain refuge, the Breslauer Hütte is ideally located for those planning to climb the Wildspitze (3768m), the highest peak in the Ötztal and therefore a popular one. The normal route from here is not difficult, but it does involve a small Via Ferrata, crossing a couple of glaciers (one of disappearing rapidly and already pretty harmless, but the other one has some crevasses, waiting to catch the unwary) and an easy scramble near the top. All in all it's a nice route, with a lot of variation. 7 July 2012.
