village Smižany (486 m) - entry point of Hornád canyon

I live in this village. Here you see roman catholic church in Smižany (486 m) found in the second half of the 13th century and canyon of the river Hornád. The river breaks out from the limestone range of the Slovak Paradise NP and flows mildly in harder subsoil. The highest peak in the photo is Havrania skala (1156 m) in the middle. Seen after sunset 30th december 2007.

Beautiful scene...

I too am a member of the Roman Catholic
faith, but I do not intend to get involved
in a debate or discussion. I am too busy
looking at all the beautiful mountains
and bodies ... of water coming out of
central and northern Europe. Peace!!!

Re: Beautiful scene...

You're right, here it is enough to admire the beauty of nature. Consequentially, if we see beauty in nature, we are more likely to see the good in each other, and we usually become also more sensible for the matters of God. I'm definitely that case. Mountains are my ways and signposts on my eternal way... Peace, Tomas :)
