Watchful Marmot

At the summit of Mt. Pugh, a marmot (Curious Marmot) peeked out from under a rock at me. It seemed to be wondering exactly what we are and what we were doing at the summit instead of a mountain goat or a pika.

They have

a very keen sense of smell. They can warn
others with loud chirps or whistles.
You must have been ... its friend.

I heard many marmots chirping on the way up the mountain. I don't entirely know why this marmot was so interested in me.
