It is interesting to observe these animals. We call them water gliders, or may be water skaters would be a translation too. These light insects actually stand on water surface and glide fast. Here is an interesting picture where one of them created a few ripples. But more interesting is its shadow, left below. Yes, the big one. At first I could not believe that shadows of these animals look like that. But then I thought that when standing on water surface, they must bend the surface, which causes a much bigger shadow on the creek bottom. I hope my reasoning is correct.
