Miserable day out
Crazy windchill towards the summit, turned back before the twins due to lack of circulation in my hands

Pleasant Walk
Unseasonably warm temperatures continue. Not a trace of snow or moisture anywhere on the trail today. Only did Waterman and had a gentle hike to the top from Mile Marker 58. Be back again for Twin Peaks.

X-Country With Twin Peaks East
Climbed Waterman Twice in one day while heading to and from Twin Peaks from Cloudburst Summit, for over 4000' of gain. Watched sunset from one of Waterman's rock outcroppings on the broad summit plateau. A fair number of hikers on Waterman, but none on Twin Peaks.

Enjoyable Hike
Hit the Twin Peaks first and came back to complete Waterman, lots of people on the trail but hike is enjoyable and easy.

Waterman Trail
Traversed over Waterman BM and proceeded to Twin Peaks. Lots of little flying gnats kept my face company for a majority of the hike!
A group of 7 bagged it on the way to Twin Peaks East on a perfect spring day.

12 summits in 2 days
Heather and I hiked up Baden-Powell, Burnham, Throop, Hawkins, Middle Hawkins, Islip, Akawie, Winston, and Lewis the previous day and then finished our trip with both summits of Twin Peaks and Waterman.
A beautiful hike and not too hard considering I've only been working out for a few weeks and otherwise was sedentary for years. Highly recommended for those getting started again like me.

Off Trail from marker 58.0
Mark J. and I started at the trail located exactly at the 58.0 mile marker. We ended up proceeding off trail up the mountain and ended to the right (East) of the last ski lift. This allowed us to see the geological tracking station, which has an explanatory sign, and also view the high desert to the North. This turned out to be quite fun, and we would periodically crossed the use road then headed up again.

hidden summit
very easy hike up the trail and down the fire road. lots of rock piles on the top made it tough to find the usgs stamp. i finally found it and moved some stuff around to try and make it stand out for other hikers. fun hike.

From Buckhorn via Waterman Trail
Felt pretty good about having bagged until realized at home it was the false summit. Oh well, easy enough to correct. Continued on to East Twin Peaks the same day.

Loop hike
Hiked the trail to the 8038-foot summit and tagged all of the highest rock piles. Eyeballed to north summit and decided to check it out to be sure. Since that put me in the ski area, I descended via the access road. Day was very warm and I saw no one the entire hike.

With Twin on a beautiful day
Twin (and east Twin) with Waterman on the way back. Twins north slope had retained a fait amount of snow while Waterman (both sides) was mostly melted out.

perfect day for a summit
Nice climb to the top via buckhorn trail. after the ridge we were the first ones breaking snow(only maybe 6"-12" snow left). I climbed all 3 rock peaks, the middle one being the highest and hardest to climb.

went looking for snow
Took a trip up to the middle-high country the day after an early season storm to see if there was any snow. There wasn't. The cool air was very enjoyable though. With Winston Peak and Winston Ridge.
