One of five Mike and I climbed this day. This peak, with its small summit, scrambling and exposure opportunities, and aesthetic appeal was my favorite of the five.
strangly count (aka saint)grizzly seems to recall climbing this a month earlier, but i'm fairly certain that he was the person behind me making all the smart ass comments. an infrequently climbed but a stunning peak which felt rather exposed. climbed along with east camas and 8766 under the leadership of mike hoyt.
2sep10 - Took my nephew, Joe, to visit the summits of Middle Camas Peak and West Camas Peak. A perfect-weather day contributed to another wonderful outing in the Bitterroots.
5aug10 - After climbing Middle Camas Peak, I hit this summit before descending. I wanted to climb Camas and Lion Points too, but didn't have time to do that AND make it to a dinner engagement on time!
30jun09 - Climbed 5 summits today - East, Middle, & West Camas Peaks plus Camas and Lion Point. A great early season outing.
7aug08 - Climbed this plus Point 8766 and East Camas Peak during a variation of the Four Lakes Route with Vernon and Meleah. The weather, which looked like it would turn against us, cooperated, but we were eaten alive by mosquitoes, gnats, and black flies. Still, they didn't spoil our outing.
12jul08 - Bob Sihler and I made this one of the five summits we climbed during a point-to-point outing which began at the Camas Lakes Trailhead and finished at the standard trailhead for Ward Mountain. It was my first time on this great summit.
