See the Getting There section of the main page for directions to the trailhead.
Trail follows Pansy Creek south. At about .8 miles you'll cross a creek with a small waterfall on your right. Just after this the trail takes a sharp left. There is a faint trail to the right blocked by a log. This used to go down to Pansy Lake, you don't want to go that way, it's been abandoned a while. After a short distance, you'll come to another junction. The way left goes up by Dickey Lake. Take the path straight ahead and about 400 yards later there will be another junction. The path to the right goes down a short distance to Pansy Lake and the campsites. Take the other fork following the trail to Twin Lakes. After about .8 miles you'll come to the edge of the West Ridge. Turn left at this marked trail and head up just under 2 miles along the ridge. Just before a ridgecrest, you'll come to another junction (marked). Turn left here and it switchbacks up the ridge to the summit.
The other option along the west side is that path up past Dickey Lake but it has less views so I would advise to hit that one on the loop down. To do this loop, head north on the trail from the summit and at 1.1 miles, watch for a small marked sign for a side trail to the left. This heads back down to the approach hike. When you reach it, head right back to the trailhead. This trail down north from the summit is the one that goes to Road 6340 and the Dickey Ridge Trail to Bull of the Woods.
