Wild Rhubarb

Wild Rhubarb (Rumex crispus) also known as Curly Dock growing along the Pine Creek trail in Red Rocks, Nevada. April 2008. The peaks in the background are : Pine Creek Peak (upper left side of the photo) and Mescalito (upper center) Rumex crispus belongs to the Buckwheat Family. Its leaves are green but the stems, flowers and later the seeds are all reddish brown. This plant is widespread in North America.

(the token shots of a climber/hiker moving towards the pyramid are kinda boring)

Thank you. No, I don't mind. The page looks very nice.
I love Mecalito, not to mention that both scrambling routes to the top are also some of bighorns favorite hangouts.

Where is Juniper Peak in relation to
Pine Creek Canyon? Is it the tall
rocky one to the southeast of Mescalito?
I still need to post a photo of some
bighorn tracks that I took at Lake Mead.

Thank you. That's a special enclave of plants
on Juniper Peak's back-side. And, the reptiles
