Wild Wyoming

Wild Wyoming

This is, to me, what Wyoming is all about-- meadows, peaks, and a big sky, with almost no one else around. View in "Orig" for a better feel of this scenery. The peak in center is known locally as Terrace Peak and can be climbed from the Granite Highline Trail. Jutting up beyond the ridge running left from the peak is Pinnacle Peak, not one of the highest Gros Ventre Peaks but, at 5.4 on the summit block, the hardest named peak to climb. To the left is Point 10,700. This view is from Deer Ridge. Gros Ventre Range, WY-- July 2009

Wide Open Wyoming

Awesome capture of the feeling of the Gros Ventres. Nice to see somebody giving them a little love.

Re: Wide Open Wyoming

Thanks! After the Absarokas, the Gros Ventres are my favorites in WY. The perfect climbing trip involves a swing through the Absarokas, Gros Ventres, and Wyoming Range. In fact, my next pages will be WY Range peaks from this summer.
