Both for liking the picture and for making a good guess! I'm Ukrainian actually. And you must be German, no wait a second, then you probably would not speak Russian well enough to know that "lake" is of neuter gender... Hm... Maybe Czech?

Re: krasivojeYou got it! I am Czech, grew up on the border with Austria. I studied Russian for 11 years and even had a pen pal in Minsk. We had to read books in Russian, and memorize "pismo natashi" from Evgenij Onegin (I still remember it!). Puskin is good, but I prefer Czechov....sorry, do not speak ukrainian...hahaha

Speaking about literature, my favorite Czech writer is Kundera. Never tried reading him in original, but I find his translations into English really good. In fact better than translations into Russian.
