Wow! Like a normal Colorado...

Wow! Like a normal Colorado Columbine, only much smaller, the flowers of the Alpine Columbine (Aquilegia saximontana) measure smaller than the face of my watch, perhaps 1" in diameter. I saw only this single plant on Yale's East Ridge, between 12,500 and 13,000 feet elevation. 15 July 2004.

Thank you.

I am studying the genus Aquilegia and this locality for A.saximontana is new to me.You have added to my knowledge on its distribution.
Best wishes from England.
