you deserve it. What camera would you get if you just wanted a small one for good anti shake 6-8 mega pix for around $300?

I have been told the Pentax W10 is awesome!

It is a bit more than $300 (~$400), but Canon SD700 IS would be my choice if I really need IS. You should also check out Fuji F30

Fortunately, no mom in sight. I would never want to be near a bear mom with cubs. It is trouble waiting to happen. Black bears are often brown. Sometimes they are even cinnamon or whitish! Go figure.
