Got you mixed up with Dean!

Hey Bob - sorry about that! You guys really get around - must have a heck of a lot of time to do all the climbs that you love. What's that U-shaped valley far below? Is that where the Pacific Crest Trail goes through - which side of the peak is Holden Lake on? Is it on the west side or east side of Bonanza? Yes, this is what the Washington Cascades are all about. Be safe out there!

Re: Got you mixed up with Dean!

Larry,

Here are answers:

The U-shaped valley is the one that drains the Company Glacier on the north side of Bonanza - Company Creek.

The PCT is in the next drainage over to the west, Agnes Creek.

Holden Lake is on the east side of the peak. We ascended to Holden Pass, then up onto the Mary Green Glacier, then up the east face on sustained 3rd and 4th class rock.

Here's a Topozone map that will orient you to the area.

Okay BOB - Thanks!!!

Think I'm STRAIGHT now on Bonanza. Savour the moment!!! You're lucky to be doing what you ARE doing. Bonanza is such a charming and remarkable piece of God's creation. Take care!
