Re: funnysounds more interesting than funny ! I am curious. What have you been thinking of ? I am planning some winter bivouac in Tazka soon. Anything higher depends on current avalanche danger.

Re: funnyI have many winter plans but seems this winter starts bad;( first icy rocks in November and now tones of snow..
Is it possible to reach Tazka valley safely in winter?
I wanted to climb the ridge between Zabi Wyzni and Nizne Rysy in November but I didn't manage to do it before snowfalls..I suppose it isn't possible in winter.

Re: funnyThe ridge that you mention would be truly serious winter challenge...can't say much about topo of the route but remember how it looks in general and find it rather risky...
Talking about Tazka in winter. As far as I know the area, the path from the bottom of Bielovodska or the part of the valley up there between two lakes(the frozen waterfall must look just incredible now) thanks to such terrain configuration(rather walls than slopes where snow masses could accumulate)is not much endangered by avalanches. Of course you must take into account all difficulties of the steep, most likely very icy and even hard to find under snow, treacherous path climbing the treshold of the valley. Once you conquer this, you welcome Tatra paradise :)
p.s.
There might be some less steep winter option of reaching Tazka threshold right to the summer path, but I don't recommend it as I've never tried it.
I think it would be useful to check that view before the trip.
Zdrowko!
Tomek
