Thanks, Eric. It's certainly different from most pictures you'll see of Pollux. This is from the NE, and not that many people climb it from this side. According to my guidehook, coming from the Schwarztor (the big snowy saddle on the right) the route up this north face is rated 'only' PD+. It looks a bit harder though.

There are several more commonly climbed routes: up the West flank, also from the Schwarztor (PD), the SW ridge (PD+) (invisible in this picture) and the SE ridge (PD), here visible in profile on the left. In 2012, I climbed the SW ridge. Still haven't gotten around to writing a route page for it...
