23 South from Little Annapurna

23 South from Little Annapurna

In case you ever wondered whether Mount Rainier dominates the Washington Cascades, we're looking at it from 63 miles away, down and across the spine of the central Cascades. My little pocket camera has a wide-angle lens, so this picture makes Rainier look about 50% farther away than it is.

The valley below is Ingalls Creek. There's a nice trail up it leading all the way from Highway 97 to Ingalls Lakes and Peaks, beyond Mount Stuart.
