That's quite an image my friend. You have climbed in some amazing place and covered a lot of unique terrain. Bravo!

Thanks, and don't worry, they'll keep coming all right. I've got a bit of a backlog of images to sort out, but there will be lots more.

Very nice photo! I always find it funny that even in a photo that shows danger in the mountains, the blue from the sky and ice add a sense of peace and calm.

I like the blue as well, but I have to admit that the first thing that springs to mind when I see blue ice is coldness. By the time I took the picture, the sun was out in full force, as testified by the blue sky. It wasn't windy and that made it very pleasant to be up there.

A few hours earlier, on our way up in darkness, it was a different matter. It was very cold indeed. At one point, after a steep pitch, we had to sit down on a small ledge to try and get some blood flowing into our hands again. I took off my mittens and stuck my hands in my armpits, under my down jacket, and it must have taken close to 15 minutes to get them warm. Next time I do something like this, I definitely need warmer gear!

Great photo - and made 'photo of the day'!
Reminds me of the top of the Brenva Spur route on MB as it was in 1984 - there was a scary traverse under seracs there

Frankly, I wasn't worried at all about the seracs coming down on me. Just enjoying our successful climb, and at the same time focussed on not slipping and tumbling off the mountain. I mean, if you fall here, you've got to self arrest very quickly!
