A Hard-Earned View of Mt. Tammany!

Mt Tammany from Mimsi, Delaware Water Gap We hiked up Mt. Mimsi in the 90+ heat in July, carrying all the water we would need and then down in to the gap and then up Tammany to Sunfish Pond which had nude sunbathers who were obviously high on something other than the altitude (Remember that this was 1969 or 1970!) and this was with junior high age girls trailing behind us as counselors! "Hey kids, we're not going to be stopping at the pond after all!"

Re: Very interesting geology

Mt. Tammany is unique especially for New Jersey. Look at this page here.

Thanks for looking!

Impressive!

Very interesting shape this mountain has...after having been two times to the Elbsandsteingebirge - the Sandstone Mountain Range of the river Elbe (Germany/Czech republic) - I am more sensitive also to these landscapes...

Re: Impressive!

I guess it is sort of unusual but I didn't think that at the time. I'll have to look up the Sandstone Mountain Range of the river Elbe.
