A small peak bordering the Roseg valley

A small peak bordering the Roseg valley

I haven't been able to figure out which peek this is. This picture was taken in a south easterly direction, from the forest near the head of the valley. Given the conditions at the time and the fact that there is some snow on the north face, it must be over 3000 m.

Given...

...that you were in Val Roseg, facing east or south east, this would either be Piz Chalchagn (3154m) or Piz Misaun (3249m).

Re: Given...

I was in Val Roseg all right, but from your remark, I realize my original caption was wrong: I was roughly looking in a south-westerly direction! Sorry about the mix-up.

The problem with the determination is that there are so many peaks on the western ridge of the valley, that I can't figure out which one it is. The snow tells me that it must be a northerly face, or the sun would already have melted it, but that still wasn't enough help.

Re: Given...

Well, in this case it would most probably be either Munt Arlas (3127m) or Piz Surlej (3188m).

Re: Given...

Yeah, I thought about those two. I've used this site with various viewpoints from down in the Roseg valley, and whatever I try, I just can't get the right profile for either of them. Either I'm making a mistake somehow, or it's another peak. Trying to determine it was an interesting puzzle though.
