Josh Lewis and I traversed from Chief Joseph Mountain through the Hurwal Divide to Sacajawea and the Matterhorn on July 6 and 7, 2016. The route followed the crest along goat trails most of the way on class 2 terrain. A little bit of class 3 was encountered as we scrambled over basalt, shale, limestone, marble, granite, rhyolite, pumice and sandstone. This was the most geologically diverse terrain either of us had ever encountered. We also came across a herd of about 30 mountain goats near the summit of the Hurwal Divide. From the beginning of the Chief Joseph Trail near a waterfall on BC creek to below Ice Lake, we didn't see a soul.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
