Entering a class III section on our descent of the northeast ridge of Mount Merritt. Careful route finding is required along this stretch, as a slip would likely result in a prolonged tumble down to Old Sun Glacier. One of my climbing partners (Josh Olson) is visible on the left edge of the photo. Directly above him is the point where the standard route from Mokowanis Lake joins the northeast ridge.
