Thanks tarol! I can't remember what trail this was. I think is was on the west side of Tam. circa 1995. Maybe I'll stumble apon this cool glade again!

Re: Dipsea?

Thanks! I don't know. It was around '95. I'd like to find that trail again! It's somewhere on the west slope.

Re: attractive view

Thanks! I've not seen any other trees quite like that before or since. You have some nice shots in your gallery as well.
Cheers!

Thanks Rob. Now this one reminds me of something out of Lord of the Rings.

It has flair

I'm just wondering if there is a slight amount of soil creep taking place in the area. A geologic phenomenon, surface soils and their corresponding vegetative overlay move downslope as friction between soil particles is compromised due to prolonged soil wetting, i.e., inordinate rainfall amounts over time.....sorry for the techno sounding hypothesis, but it doesn't look like wind abatement---too much flex in the tree trunks, no breakage to speak of....Lovely photo by the way. Lots of honches also. 10/10

Re: It has flair

Well, I don't know. But your consideration about the soil phenomenon sounds quite plausible. Glad you like the pic, thanks Joel.
btw- what do you mean by honches?

Re: It has flair

A honch is a natural array of ferns, the way they come out of the ground in a cluster
