Alpine Wintergreen berries revealed

Berries of Gaultheria humifusa hide away low near the ground; I turned a little shoot with berries upside down to take this picture of the berries' light pink underbellies. 8/29/08

Did you taste

any of these? If so how were they?

We have berries in our neck of the woods, up in the hills. I think they call them "Chokeberries." They are delicious,
but have big pits.

Re: Did you taste

Most wild-food books caution against eating false-wintergreens, but they taste good for humane palates. Not so much for dogs :)
