Yes, cool indeed - at first I was annoyed that the trees hid part of the rocks but after looking at the shots at home I saw the beautiful red - green contrast.
I think that the crags in the Red River Gorge are more connected and that there are fewer mushrooms, but more arches. Very beautiful amongst the beeches.
Those rocks are the most exceptionnal of all the Palatinate, it's an evidence ! There are too much geological particularities on this rocky crest : red and orange colors, honeycombs and cathedrals erosions, overhangs, caves and tunnels, towers for climbing, etc. A great page on Summitpost, dude ! Well done ! ;-)

The Altschlossfelsen are now re-open and totally free of access (for hikers and climbers). This is the case, since the middle of june 2012. Good to know ! Enjoy this exceptionnal rocky destination and have good fun between the green of the forest and the red of the sandstone ... Good luck and good adventures to you ! Friendly from France, Alsace. ;-)
