| Beautiful, warm, sunny Southern California day. Wanted to climb San Gorgonio via the Fish Creek Trail but no permits were being issued due to the road still being closed from winter. The road is open to Coon Creek and the sign on the gate says that the rest of the road will open May 14th. Anyway, my friend Dan and I decided to climb Anderson via the Forsee Creek Trail. Also bagged 10,600 foot Shields Peak. Trail was clear of snow up to aprox. 9,000 foot. Then it was just patchy. Just beyond the cut-off for Jackstraw Springs the trail became harder to follow due to snow. |
