Walk out to the point for a fantastic view; come on, its only another couple hundred feet! It's worth it, one of my favorite so cal peaks. Did it just after Shields, which is even better.

Third peak of the day and turn-around point. Great views of Jepson, Gorgonio and San Jacinto (covered in smoke). Northwest to Baldy was clear and crisp. No climaxes on this hike but a good workout and a beautiful day to be out.

This was the turn around peak for Deb and I during our 20 miler out in the San Bernadino wilderness. Beautiful autumn day. We could spot flames from the Esperanza Fire from Anderson's summit.

Did this one in 2004 with my dogs. We bagged Shields as well. The pooches loved it. Great views. I love the San Bernardino Ridge.

Why do people say San Jacinto is SOCal's 2nd highest peak, when Jepson and Anderson are both higher. San Jac is SOCal's 4th highest named peak.

Augie MedinaRoute: From Forsee Creek TH Date Climbed: July 1, 2006  Sucess!

Augie Medina

Did this peak as part of a four peak traverse (the others were Shields, San Bernardino Peak, and San Bernardino Pk East). While the lowlands baked in 100+ degree heat today, we enjoyed 75 degree weather above the Forsee Creek Trailhead. We visited the Washington Monument, survey landmark. We returned through Johns Meadow and enjoyed immensely the beautiful wildflowers and the springs and crisp, cool water (we didn't filter) that Forsee Creek afforded.

Going to Vegas the weekend before seemed to have done the necessary damage. I actually got a little altitude sick around 10,000 feet; this is only the 2nd or 3rd time ever. I wasn't physically tired but didn't feel well. Pushed through anyway and made it. I think it's about 14 miles round-trip rather than 12. Came down fast and still took 2h45min.
