 | | Dmitry Pruss | but is it going to a mountain page? | |
Voted 10/10 | turistoalpinista, do you plan to include this and your other pictures into a mountain page or a route or trip report page?

Hasn't voted | Perhaps,now I work on my own page and after that I can do a page here. | | Posted Mar 9, 2006 4:36 pm |
 | | Dmitry Pruss | and after that ... | |
Voted 10/10 | turistoalpinista, I understand that Bianco doesn't have a page on SP, so there is no existing mountain or route page to attach your cool photos.
There are two more ways in which you can bring these pictures into geographical context. One is simply to attach the pictures to an AREA/RANGE page, where this Biala is located. Another is make an album of them, and attach to the AREA/RANGE.
Adding coordinates during edit (just by double-clicking / zooming the map) will tie the pictures to a geographical location too, and they will come up in location / distance searches.
The way these unattached pictures exist now, they are beautiful but unfortunately mostly uninformative, and SP values information over artistic quality. | | Posted Mar 9, 2006 5:15 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Mockba, Monte Bianco (or Mont-Blanc) does have a page here in Summitpost. And a good one, by the way. The address is http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/150245/mont-blanc.html
All pictures from Mont Blanc (or trip reports!) can be attached to this page | | Posted Mar 9, 2006 6:07 pm |
 | | Dmitry Pruss | all the white ones LOL | |
Voted 10/10 | Thanks, I kind of suspected it at first LOL but so many mountains are called White Ones in the local languages that I am, like, well, if it is the same one, someone will correct me :))
That didn't take long to happen, thanks!
But I guess it just underscores the need for attching pictures to locations. For us the clueless ones :) Images are often judged differently if there is already something redundant on SP, and just to cast an informative vote, I gotta to know where a picture was taken, and what else aready exists in the images section of SP.
LOL I guess I needed to climb Mont Blanc when I visited Switzerland retracing the footsteps of my ancestors who hail from Geneva. My grandfather climbed it in his teens. Well maybe next time, and then I'd recognize the pictures :) | | Posted Mar 9, 2006 6:32 pm |
