At 9400+ using the south side...
At 9400+ using the south side route, this view of Freel Peak appears. In the center of the pic is a "sandy" slope where the use trail joins the cross country course I was on.

I ended up in this exact location last weekend between the two trees looking up at that fun sandy slope. Good reference point.

That was a great hike and I really enjoyed the sandy glissade on the way back down (where it was possible). Cool that you recognized the same spot that I took this pic from.
