Nice Finish To Great Weather Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2012
The northwest had gone 75-80 days without any measurable rainfall. The dry conditions were bad for the terrain (i.e. wildfires) but great for hikers. With the weather finally shifting back to rain the following day, I used the last great weather day to complete a summit trip that I had failed on last year due to too much snow and concerns of timing-out.
The north-central Washington Cascades have great areas for which to see and enjoy brilliant Autumn colors. Bald Eagle Mountain is no exception.
