Belly River Overlook
~3 miles from the trailhead at Chief Mountain Customs, hikers are greeted to this spectacular view of the Belly River. Bear Mountain is at right. If you enlarge the photo, you can make out a snowfield on the slopes of a cluster of peaks at far left. This is the upper portion of Old Sun Glacier, and the true summit of Mount Merritt is the peak just right of the glacier.
