Black Canyon Lake, Late Afternoon

And a hint of weather to come. Unable to handle the down time I faced after setting up camp out here at about 3 P.M., I went up Thunder Mountain at about 5, gambling on the weather and ready to turn back if necessary. Despite appearances, all I ever got was some light rain, and that was brief. The sky cleared for a wonderful sunset as I enjoyed my bacon and snow-chilled beer.

The peak on the left is called Spirit Mountain.
