11-06-2010. First snow accumulation for the high summits of the Black Mountains this season. As usual, the ascent up from Black Mountain campground yielded amazing diversity in both weather and aspects of the terrain. Also, after years of hiking in the Blacks, I've still yet to see even one of the elusive Black bears, but on this trek, I finally saw my first clear evidence of their existence... tracks in the snow!
