| Blanca was cold, windy, steep and exposed. Wind forced some of the guys in my group to crawl to the summit. Cold and wind made the stay at the summit brief. | |

| Did this on a 2 day trip, camped Saturday at Lake Como and hit the summit the next day, rested for about 1/2 hour while breaking down camp, and descended. On the way up got sidetracked in a couloir pretty close to Ellington and then had to take the ridge the rest of the way to Blanca. Would have liked to do another peak in the area, but facing an 8 mile descent and tired legs decided to scrap and drive back to Denver. Beautiful! | ||

| Backpacked up the road to Lake Como and the day was still very clear and calm, so I headed up to tag Blanca and Ellingwood. Made it back to camp as the sun was going down. | |

| Drove by Jeep to Lake Como. Pitched our tent next to some friends and then climbed Blanca Peak the next day. It was a quick hike - 5 hrs roundtrip from Lake Como. The vistas are stunning. Can't wait to return for Little Bear and Ellingwood. | |

| Some day I'd like to return due to foggy low visibility conditions. I don't remember exactly when I climbed Blanca, but it was probably around 1997 or so. | ||
