Bunsen Peak from the North

Bunsen Peak from the North
This is Bunsen Peak (WY), seen from the north on Elk Plaza outside Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone NP. The longer route up Bunsen leaves from Mammoth and goes up the left side of the peak as viewed from here. However, the far-more-common route goes up the ridge visible on the right side here, starting from the Glen Creek trailhead in Gardner's Hole.

Notice the extensive burn areas from the 1988 Yellowstone fires.

Photo taken in late September 2007.

"This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left. And I'm ready for war."   --Marv, Sin City
